India's number 1 brand, Amul, also scores
high on its witty, rib-tickling advertisements that like wine just keep getting
better with time. The company has been running its popular advertising campaign
since 1966, taking fond potshots at the social, nation's political, sporting and
filmy arenas. For decades, the cute Amul girl has entertained us with her
one-liners. She laughed with us, cried with us and been there through every
defeat and triumphs. Here's a look at some of the most telling advertisements in
the first four months of 2012:
May 2012: The Amul girl take on
US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton's three-day tour to consult with the
Indian govt on key regional and global issues.
April
2012: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar broke his silence over his Rajya Sabha
nomination, saying he was honoured by the government's offer but that he would
always remain a sportsman and not a politician

2012: The Bofors case returned to haunt the Congress when Swedish police chief
Sten Lindstrom revealed that he was the Swedish Deep Throat, a key source of
journalist Chitra Subramaniam-Duella. He further said there was no evidence of
former Indian PM Rajiv Gandhi or Amitabh Bachchan in the Bofors pay-off
scandal.
May 2012: Sunil Narine's mystery is yet to
be solved. The West Indian said that he was living a dream and he would continue
to work harder. "It's dream for me to have such a good tournament and I'm living
pretty much in a dream right now. All these have been possible for the hard work
that I put in and I just hope that I'm able to work harder in the future," he
said.
April 2012: The race to

been removed after complaints that it was racist. The advert showed the actor
